BeachBumBride

I married my highschool sweetheart, Steve, who I met in Grade 10 Math class. We married July 19th, 2008 in Hamilton, Ontario. I had always dreamed of a beautiful beach wedding, far away from reality, but soon realized the expensive price tag and expecting my elderly relatives and year round farming family, to drop everything to run off to an exotic beach, was not at all feasible. Therefore, my husband and I planned our wedding here at Lakeland Hall in Hamilton right on the beach (Lake Ontario!) and had the exotic beach theme, at a price we could afford. We were able to have all 130 guests attend and planned the whole day on our own.

I married my best friend, soulmate and lover for life, and have loved each and every adventure we have taken on (whitewater rafting, skydiving, tubing etc., etc.)

VintageGypsy

All my life, I never thought I would or would want to get married. I spent years living like a gypsy and moving from one city to another, experiencing life, making mistakes and memories and travelling the world.

I can honestly say I was ready to live a more simple life at the time I met Michael. Planning our double weddings was a challenge to say the least, but I thrived on the research it took to pull the two together.

We were married in paradise under the setting of the Mayan Riviera sun by the ocean. The theme for my wedding upon return to Canada was strictly vintage romance.
Now that the weddings are over, I've still enjoyed research and writing and have started my own blog, called Life Wrapped in Lace, which is meant to be an escape from everyday life with things I find beautiful.

I graduated from Brock University with a degree in Sociology over a decade ago and have worked in Finance ever since, yet what was lacking in both of these areas was my love of creative writing and research.

I've always enjoyed reading and writing and life sometimes gets in the way of being able to do both. Fortunately I've now made some time to be able to incorporate these hobbies into my life, and have been blessed to write for Wedding Girl's column. I hope I am able to give inspiration to future brides, just the same way I was able to be inspired by others.
